Stapleton developers recognized by EPA
“U.S. Environmental Protection Agency regional administrator Robert E. Roberts today presented representatives from Forest City Enterprises, Inc., with an Environmental Achievement Award for vision, superior leadership and skill in redeveloping the former Stapleton International Airport site in Denver into a environmentally friendly, mixed-use development.”

Forest City recently earned its first LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building council for 3055 Roslyn St., a two-story office building located at the Company’s Stapleton development in Denver.
“This building is another step in Stapleton’s commitment to environmental stewardship, which can already be seen within our residential home builder community and at the LEED Silver-certified Shops at Northfield Stapleton,” said Jon Ratner, vice president, Sustainability Initiatives.

Forest City Stapleton received 2006 ThreeR Award from Denver’s Department of Public Works/Solid Waste Management.
Forest City Stapleton was honored for efforts supporting recycling in Denver. This was awarded for the way Forest City Stapleton promoted recycling throughout the year in their monthly newsletter, website and visitors’ center as well as added special support with the new cart deliveries to the entire Stapleton development in October 2006.

Stapleton and Infinity Win National Recognition from National Sales and Marketing Council
Forest City Stapleton was honored with the “Best Radio Commercial for a Master-planned Community,” for its commercial highlighting the community as a sensible option between urban and suburban life. Tthe Infinity Home Collection at Stapleton was recognized with three gold awards for the Sky Terrace homes: the “Attached Community of the Year,” “Best Interior Merchandising of a Model Priced $400,000 to $650,000” and “Best Attached Home Plan Priced $500,000 and Over.”

Stapleton wins "Best Sustainable Neighborhood" from Pacific Coast Builders
Stapleton, the groundbreaking project to transform a shuttered airport into new urban neighborhoods, has won a Grand Award for Best Sustainable Residential Neighborhood through the prestigious Gold Nuggets Award of the Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC). The award was made last month at the PCBC’s annual conference attended by 35,000 in San Francisco.

Stapleton named to ULI's 2006 Awards for Excellence
Stapleton was recognized as one of 10 winners of the Urban Land Institute's 2006 Awards for Excellence. Established in 1979, the competition is based on ULI’s guiding principle that the achievement of excellence in land use practice should be recognized and rewarded. ULI’s Awards for Excellence recognize the full development process of a project, not just its architecture or design. The criteria for the awards include leadership, contribution to the community, innovations, public/private partnership, environmental protection and enhancement, response to societal needs, and financial success.

2005 DRCOG Metro Vision Award
Forest City Stapleton, Inc. was awarded the 2005 Metro Vision Award by the Denver Regional Council of Governments (DRCOG). Metro Vision awards recognize outstanding projects and activities that move the region’s growth and development plan, Metro Vision, to reality. Metro Vision describes goals and policies in the area of growth and development, the transportation system and the environment that will bring about the quality of life the region wants in the years leading up to 2030.
Stapleton Receives "Best-in-American-Living" Award
Stapleton was awarded the 2004 Best in American Living Award for Smart Growth (in the category of 151 residential units and over). The award was given based on Stapleton's commitment to protect and provide access to the natural environment, incorporate a mix of land use, use land in an efficient and innovative manner, encourage multiple transportation options, provide housing choices, respect local tradition and take advantage of infill opportunities. The award is a reflection of the dedication the Stapleton project has to Smart Growth.
The Best in American Living Awards are open to builders, architects, designers, developers, land planners and interior designers nationwide.
Forest City Stapleton, Inc. Honored with Environmental Achievement Award
Forest City Stapleton, Inc. has been nominated for and awarded, a Silver Level Environmental Achievement Award for 2004 from the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment.
The Environmental Achievement Award recognizes the voluntary and significant environmental achievements of Colorado businesses and organizations. Nominated by Pat Marinek of the Department's hazardous Materials and Waste Management Division nominated Forest City Stapleton, Inc. for its design and implementation of sustainability concepts in the mixed-use urban redevelopment at the 4,700-acre former Stapleton International Airport property. We are honored by this award and appreciate the recognition from the State of Colorado.

On Thursday, March 18th Forest City Stapleton, Inc. proudly accepted two awards at the 7th Annual Wirth Chair Awards Luncheon. Forest City Stapleton, Inc. earned the Business Award for its commitment and dedication to building a community with a defined sustainable strategy, and Melissa Knott, Forest City Stapleton, Inc.’s director of sustainability was recognized for her outstanding achievements with the Community Award.

U.S. Conference of Mayors Award for Excellence from the Mayors Business Council 2002 Public-Private Partnerships Award
The Mayors Business Council established the awards to encourage businesses and cities to work together as city resources become stretched and the need for local community improvements increases. The 2002 recipients were chosen by the Business Council for demonstrating civic responsibility and corporate commitment to economic development; urban revitalization; workforce development; affordable housing; education reform and water conservation.

The Sales & Marketing Council of the Home Builders Association of Metropolitan Denver recently awarded the Stapleton Visitor Center the honor of Best Sales Office in The Bar Awards 2002. The Bar Awards honor builders and associates who make major contributions to the residential home building industry through superior, innovative and creative work in their respective disciplines.
Stapleton Development Plan saluted as a “model” at United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development
At a three-day roundtable meeting sponsored by The United Nations Council on Sustainable Development held June 6-8, 2001 in Vail, Colorado, the Stapleton Development Plan was saluted as a “model” by leaders in the field of sustainable development from Europe and North America.
